Every human life has a “Platinum Period” of 10 minutes and a “Golden Hour” of 60 minutes following an accident. During these critical periods, proper training and immediate response can make a significant difference. Recognizing this importance, CII Young Indians is committed to equipping individuals with life-saving skills.
“Faristey” program equipped participants with valuable skills to act as first responders. The training began with a pre-test to gauge existing knowledge, conducted online for everyone’s convenience.
Following the pre-test, the instructors delved into the concepts of emergencies and first aid, highlighting their differences and emphasizing the key objective of first aid: P.P.P. (Preserve Life, Promote Speedy Recovery, Prevent Worsening of Condition). The general principles of first aid were laid out, followed by discussions on the crucial role of first responders and the importance of ensuring rescuer and victim safety.
Techniques like handwashing, scene assessment, and universal precautions were covered in detail.
Distinguishing between trauma and medical emergencies was a key focus, with participants learning how to respond effectively in each situation. Bleeding control strategies, checking pulse rates, and proper patient movement techniques were expertly demonstrated and practiced. Lifting and moving techniques were also introduced, further equipping participants for various scenarios.
To solidify the acquired knowledge, participants actively practiced all the learned techniques under the instructors’ guidance. The hands-on session included CPR training, covering the essential ABCDE approach and allowing participants to practice in groups. Additionally, the instructors explained the use of Deep Respirator machines in delivering shocks for immediate response.
To conclude the program, a post-test was conducted, revealing a significant improvement in everyone’s knowledge. Valuable feedback was then gathered from participants, ensuring the program’s effectiveness.
Overall, the “Faristey” program provided a comprehensive and engaging learning experience, empowering participants with the critical skills and knowledge to act confidently as first responders in an emergency.
CII Young Indians, Jamshedpur aims to train 10000 citizens of Jamshedpur with necessary skills to act as first responders in emergency situations in 2024.
