Jamshedpur, April 20: A one-day awareness camp was organized by NSS Unit-I of DBMS College of Education, Kadma, in Dhanchatani village on April 18. The programme, held on the occasion of World Heritage Day, focused on the theme “Not Me, But You – Let Us Build a Healthy Nation.”
The main objective of the camp was to create awareness among villagers and school students about health, sanitation, and personal hygiene. NSS volunteers shared important messages on daily practices such as washing hands with soap before meals and after using the toilet, eating fresh fruits and vegetables, and drinking sufficient water.
Participants were also educated on maintaining dental hygiene by brushing twice a day, taking regular baths, and wearing clean clothes. They were advised to cover their mouth and nose while coughing or sneezing and to keep their surroundings clean.
Volunteers Siddhi Jalan, Srishti Kumari, Ayush Prasher, Rohit Poddar, Parimal Pal, and Reema Roy actively participated in the campaign.
College Secretary Sripriya Dharmarajan, Joint Secretary Sudha Dilip, Principal Dr. Joohi Samarpita, Vice-Principal Dr. Monica Uppal, faculty members, and staff contributed to the programme’s success. The NSS unit urged people to adopt healthy habits for a better society.
