Jamshedpur celebrates Ambedkar Jayanti with zeal and enthusiasm

Jamshedpur: The birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution and a champion of social justice, was celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm. The city was abuzz with activities that paid homage to the iconic leader and his contributions towards equality and empowerment.

The celebrations commenced with a garlanded portrait of Dr. Ambedkar being placed at a prominent location in the city, accompanied by floral tributes and incense. A grand procession was organized, with people from all walks of life coming together to honor the legacy of Dr. Ambedkar. The procession was marked by enthusiastic chants of “Jai Bhim,” which is a popular slogan associated with Dr. Ambedkar and his teachings.

Various cultural programs were held throughout the day, showcasing the rich heritage of Dr. Ambedkar’s teachings. Dance performances, skits, and songs highlighted the importance of social equality, human rights, and empowerment, which were the core principles that Dr. Ambedkar stood for. Many prominent personalities, including local leaders, activists, and scholars, delivered speeches and shared insights on Dr. Ambedkar’s life, work, and vision.

One of the highlights of the celebrations was a seminar organized on the topic of “Ambedkar’s Ideas for Modern India,” which saw renowned scholars and experts discussing Dr. Ambedkar’s thoughts on social justice, democracy, and inclusive development. The seminar was well-attended and generated thoughtful discussions on how Dr. Ambedkar’s ideas are relevant in today’s context.

As part of the festivities, several social and community welfare programs were also organized. Free medical camps, blood donation drives, and food distribution programs were held in different parts of the city, reflecting Dr. Ambedkar’s emphasis on serving the marginalized and downtrodden sections of society.
