Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum district administration has decided to impose Crime Control Act (CCA) on 47 notorious criminals of the city. Five of the accused persons are currently lodged in various jails of the state.
Sources said 16 criminals would be sent out of the district�s limits while 26 others will have to give attendance in the local police stations on a daily basis. A list of the criminals has been prepared. Most of the criminals belong to Sonari and Mango, sources said.
Meanwhile, the district police have launched a special drive to arrest criminals, especially those running their gangs in the city. All accused of shootout incidents in Sonari and Mango have been sent to jail. Four persons were arrested in a firing incident reported in Mango. Two others surrendered before police.
SSP Anoop Birtharay has set up a team to conduct the special drive. The team would keep an eye on the activities of criminals against whom CCA has been recommended. The team would comprise officers from all city police stations.
