Jamshedpur CBSE topper Animesh wants to study oncology

Jamshedpur, May 21: Animesh Sarkar, a bio-science student of DAV Public School, Bistupur, has been crowned Jamshedpur topper in the CBSE Class 12 results, which were declared on Saturday noon.

Animesh scored 97.2 % marks and wants to be an oncologist and do research on cancer and immune system. “I appeared for AIPMT exam and also cleared the Stage 1 of Aligarh Pre-Medical Test and would look forward to enroll for MBBS in one of the top medical colleges of the country.”

A resident of Chakradharpur, Animesh has been living in a rented house in Bistupur area of the city after he took admission in DAV. “I study 6-8 hours a day with concentration and don’t have smart phone that means no WhatsApp. However, I do have a Facebook ID and open it twice daily. When it comes to studies, I put my entire focus in my books,” said Sarkar, whose father Nilaipada Sarkar is a Loco pilot in South Eastern Railway and mother Subdhara Sarkar is a housewife.

Sarkar said, “Most of the students run away from NCERT books, but in my opinion they should be studied, as NCERT is a ‘treasure,’ which should be the focus of students aiming to make it big in the board exam.”

“I was expecting around 95- 96 % marks, but never dreamt of being a school or city topper.” When asked if percentage is important in life to be successful,

Animesh Sarkar promptly said, knowledge is more important than percentage as with knowledge one can survive anywhere in the world.
