Jamshedpur, May 21: Students of the steel city have once again proved their mettle in the CBSE class 12 exam, whose results were declared on Sunday morning.
Shashank Shekhar Indri of Vidya Bharti Chinmaya Vidyalaya (VBCV), Telco has been crowned the city topper in CBSE class 12 along with in bio-science scoring 96.6 per cent marks.
Shashank who is in Kolkata for the BHU entrance exam was informed about his success over the phone by his school friends and mother.
When contacted Shashank’s mother picked up the phone and was very happy about his son’s achievements and when she was informed that he is the city topper she couldn’t not contain her excitement.
‘I am very happy about Shashank’s accomplishment as he has worked really hard and has been consistent with studies all round the year and finally his hard work has borne fruits’, said Mousami Kumari, mother of Shashank Indri, a resident of Kasidih in Sakchi.
She informed that Shashank is in Kolkata for the BHU exam along with his father who is a civil engineer by profession and works with the Madhusudhan Builders.
Shashank expected 97 per cent marks but fell short by a fraction of marks which is not a big issue and he also appeared for the JEE Advanced exam held last week, noted his mother.
‘He doesn’t want to become an engineer but instead go in the field of research and be a scientist and he appeared for the JEE Advanced exam just because his parents wanted him to face exam’, said Shashank’s mother, adding, ‘I want my son to become a good human being as in today’s world people after being so much educated take wrong and shortcuts to success while some choose the wrong direction’.
She further said that we keep traveling across India as Shanshank’s father changes job after every three years and we came to Jamshedpur only three years back.
