Jamshedpur, July 5: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) officials conducted raids at various shops in Sakchi Market in search of single use plastic banned by the government with effect from 1st July onwards, sources said.

JNAC City Manager Ravi Bharati said the traders found to have stored considerable amount of banned plastic items were fined during the raid. Other traders have been warned, he said.

JNAC officials searched the shops for single use plastic items and urged customers to bring cloth or jute bags for carrying goods home.
