Jamshedpur: Bus owners union against widening of road

Mail News Service

Jamshedpur, Dec 10: Members of Bus Owners Association approached East Singhbhum district administration on Tuesday to demand stay on the ongoing road widening project near JP Setu in Sakchi. They handed over a memorandum to the DC Ravi Shankar Shukla in this connection and demanded that the work should be immediately stopped.

The outfit members said the widening of the main road from Swarnarekha Burning Ghat to JP Setu would entail narrowing of the bus stand space which would cause inconvenience to bus operators. They said every day hundreds of long-distance buses ply in and out of the bus stand. Things would become difficult if the boundary wall of the bus stand is shifted further to pave way for a wider road outside, they said.
