Jamshedpur, July 17: A daring theft unfolded at Gulab Chandra Jewellery shop in Kadma market, under the Kadma police station’s jurisdiction, on Tuesday afternoon at approximately 1:30 PM. Reports indicate that a masked criminal, wearing a helmet, entered the shop and engaged the shopkeeper under false pretenses.
The criminal initially appeared interested in purchasing a gold ring and placed a bundle of 500 rupee notes on the counter as part of the transaction. Seizing a moment of distraction, the thief swiftly grabbed the bundle of cash and all the displayed gold rings before fleeing the scene.
The estimated value of the stolen goods, including a single gold ring valued at around 4 lakh rupees, prompted the shopkeeper to immediately alert the authorities. Police swiftly responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.
Crucial footage from CCTV cameras installed inside the shop captured the entire sequence of events, providing essential evidence for law enforcement efforts to apprehend the perpetrator and recover the stolen jewellery.
Police efforts are now focused on apprehending the thief and recovering the stolen items, ensuring justice for the affected shopkeeper and bolstering security measures in the area.
