Jamshedpur, June 1: Students from Jamshedpur have once again made the city proud with outstanding performances in the JEE Advanced examination conducted by IIT Madras. Among the successful candidates, Sarthak Singh from Bistupur secured an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 1018.
Sarthak, a resident of M Road in Bistupur, had earlier secured AIR 1222 in JEE Main. In JEE Advanced, he scored 209 marks out of 360, including 87 in Chemistry, 70 in Physics, and 52 in Mathematics. His achievement has brought pride not only to his family but also to the entire city.
Sarthak is the son of Som Kumar Shashi, an employee of Tata Steel, while his mother Pinky Shashi is a homemaker. A former student of DAV Public School Bistupur, Sarthak now aims to pursue Computational Mechanics (ECM) at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.
Speaking about his preparation strategy, Sarthak said he maintained a disciplined schedule and studied for nearly nine hours daily at home while balancing school and coaching classes. During the final stages of preparation, he slept only four hours a day due to exam pressure. He also credited online classes for strengthening his preparation.
Apart from academics, Sarthak enjoys watching movies and painting in his free time.
