Jamshedpur, May 30: Mehransh Gill, a 10-year-old resident of Sidhgora in Jamshedpur, has brought pride to his family and community by winning a gold medal in a Taekwondo competition held in Dhanbad.
Mehransh, who has been training for just six months at the Recreation Club in Baridih, clinched first place in his category, showcasing remarkable dedication and talent at such a young age. His grandmother, Kamaljit Kaur Gill—JMM leader and noted social worker—shared the news, expressing pride in his achievement and highlighting his passion for both academics and sports.
His parents, Sardar Ravinder Singh and Sardarni Harjeet Kaur, expressed their happiness and said they are committed to supporting Mehransh in whichever field he chooses to pursue. “We want him to follow his interests, and we will stand by him in every step of his journey,” they said.
The entire family is elated over his win, and members of the local Sikh community have also expressed pride, celebrating the young athlete’s success as a significant achievement for the region.
