Jamshedpur boy bags top prize in IRIS National Fair, makes it to ISEF USA

Jamshedpur, Feb 3: Samarth Pandey, a student of DBMS English School is among the twenty-odd winners from across India in the IRIS (Initiative for Research and Innovation for STEM) National Fair.

Samarth’s project won the grand award and he will be representing India at the International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF) to be held at Dallas, Texas, USA from May 13 to 19, 2023.

Samarth’s project on Brainwave stimulation as a technique for preventing Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Insomnia and improving cognitive abilities won him accolades. Students at DBMS English School are utilising their ATAL Tinkering Lab and achieving stupendous success by way of their projects at both National and International Level.

This class XI student presented his project in the category Behavioral & Social Sciences at the IRIS National Fair 2022-23 which was held at the Dr Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi from January 20 to 22, 2023.

Each year Research based Science projects of young budding students are received across several subject categories before an eminent jury comprising Scientists and Domain experts. A total of 95 projects are then short listed to be showcased at the Annual IRIS National Fair. Samarth’s project was among them.

This is the second time that DBMS English School student has been selected for the International Grand Award. The first being Subhigya Priyansh at the Initiative for Research & Innovation in STEM (IRIS) National Fair held from January 22 to 24, 2020 at Paalanaa Bhavana, Bengaluru, Karnataka. He too had been selected to represent team India at California In 2020.

The IRIS National Fair promotes and nurtures science and scientific research among young Indian innovators. It recognises and rewards outstanding projects. It provides a platform for winning students to represent India at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), the world’s largest international pre-college science competition, held annually in the U.S.
