Jamshedpur: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Personality Development Institute ( Vyaktitva Vikas Sansthan ) organized an inspiring program at Gyan Ganga Public School near Dimna Lake. The event featured internationally renowned boxer Aruna Mishra as the Chief Guest, alongside distinguished guests including District Legal Services Authority (DALSA) Secretary Rajendra Prasad, District DVD Officer Dr. Ananya Mitra, and other eminent personalities.
Addressing the gathering, Aruna Mishra emphasized that women are no longer weak and are making remarkable strides in every field, symbolizing true empowerment. She urged society to support women in their journey towards independence and success. “Now is the time for unity among men and women to set an example in society. Women should move forward fearlessly, as legal security measures are in place to protect them. The judiciary, executive, and legislature stand with them; they only need awareness and confidence to seize opportunities,” she asserted.
DALSA Secretary Rajendra Prasad highlighted the persistent social evils that hinder women’s progress. He stressed that awareness is the key to eliminating issues such as witch-hunting, harassment, child marriage, and domestic violence. He encouraged women to actively campaign against these injustices and assured them that the judiciary and administration support their cause. He also outlined the free legal aid and court fee exemptions available to women under DALSA initiatives.
Dr. Ananya Mitra echoed these sentiments, stating that awareness is crucial for women’s empowerment. She underscored the importance of self-reliance, confidence, and education in helping women become independent and fearless.
The event began with a welcome address by Dilip Jaiswal, President of the Personality Development Institute. He detailed the institute’s commitment to societal welfare over the past 16 years, focusing on awareness programs and providing essential facilities to the underprivileged.
As part of the celebration, several women were honored with certificates for their outstanding contributions to society. Among those recognized were Lakshmi Munda, Sharda Kalindi, Poonam Devi, and Sulochana Devi. The program witnessed active participation from various dignitaries, including Advocate Deepa Singh, Tata Steel CSR representative Pankhuri Yadav, and Nehru Yuva Kendra District Youth Officer Anjali Kumari.
