Jamshedpur:Â The lifeless body of a 28-year-old youth was recovered from the Komroda River under the Bandhgaon Thana area in West Singhbhum on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Saurabh Singh, a resident of the Chutiya Thana area in Ranchi.
The tragic incident occurred when Saurabh and four of his friends embarked on a picnic trip to the Perba Ghagh fall in Khunti district last Saturday. Saurabh, who was employed at a private firm in Ranchi, had been looking forward to a day of leisure and adventure with his companions.
During the outing, the group, in high spirits, decided to approach the Perba Ghagh fall for a refreshing bath. However, their exuberance led them too close to the roaring waters of the fall, and a powerful wave suddenly surged downstream, sweeping one of them away. Tragically, Saurabh Singh fell victim to this swift and treacherous current.
In their frantic efforts to locate Saurabh, his friends promptly filed a First Information Report (FIR) with a police station in Khunti district. Despite their best efforts, their search was in vain, and hope dwindled with each passing day.
On Wednesday morning, as a group of villagers engaged in fishing along the Komroda River in Bandhgaon, they made a somber discovery. Among their catch, they spotted the lifeless body of a young man. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the villagers quickly informed the local Bandhgaon police.
