Jamshedpur, March 31: Jamshedpur block panchayat committee members staged a demonstration against block development officer on Thursday.
The dharna was staged at the block office by Panchayat Samiti members along with senior functionaries. The members said that there is lack of democracy in the office. The members threatened to resign in protest.
On the other hand, the Block Development Officer Parul Singh said their main demand is that there should be a total of eight meetings of Panchayat Samiti.
They also raised concern over water crisis in the rural areas of the district. They said that the block office has failed to undertake welfare activities.
