Jamshedpur, Feb 10: As the Lok Sabha elections draw closer, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jamshedpur has initiated the Shakti Vandan Abhiyan to actively involve women in the campaign. The campaign aims to establish connections with self-help groups, NGOs, and Matrishakti to disseminate crucial information about the central government’s schemes and accomplishments to women.
In a one-day workshop organized under the Shakti Vandan Abhiyan, the district-level event was held at Pushpanjali Bhawan in Kadma Bhatia Basti. Jyoti Adhikari, the Mahila Morcha District President, chaired the workshop. The event featured prominent speakers, including Karmaveer Singh, Jharkhand State Organization General Secretary; Maneka Sardar, former MLA; Nandji Prasad, State Minister; Bari Murmu, District Council President; Pankaj Sinha, ZIP Vice President; Sudhanshu Ojha, BJP Jamshedpur Metropolitan President; Geeta Balmuchhu, District Coordinator of the campaign; Anil Modi, District In-charge of the campaign, among others.

Speakers at the workshop highlighted various schemes initiated by the central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They emphasized the need to empower and enable women, outlining the achievements of the government in this regard. The Shakti Vandan Abhiyan was launched to fulfill the vision of women empowerment and self-reliance envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Karmaveer Singh stressed the role of the central government in uplifting and empowering women through different schemes. He expressed that empowering women would lead to their participation and influence at the Panchayat level across the country.
Geeta Balmuchu, the District in-charge of the campaign, provided details about the action plan and outlined preparations for the campaign at the district and divisional levels. The Shakti Vandan Abhiyan targets the creation of two crore Lakhpati Didis (women entrepreneurs) across the country.
Nandji Prasad, the State Minister, emphasized that the campaign focuses on skills and entrepreneurship, bringing comprehensive changes in the lives of individuals and families.
The workshop concluded with discussions on the action plan up to the booth level, reaching out to self-help groups and NGOs to disseminate information about the achievements of the Central Government.
The Shakti Vandan Abhiyan aims to recognize and honor self-reliant women in different areas of the city, contributing to their development and self-sufficiency.
Prominent personalities present at the workshop included former chairperson of Women’s Commission Kalyani Sharan, former state minister Rita Mishra, and ZIP member Kusum Purti, among others. The event was attended by hundreds of women workers and activists.
