Jamshedpur, July 21: Various Mandal units of Bharatiya Janata Party went into celebration mode after the announcement of Droupadi Murmu’s election as the 15th President of India. BJP leaders and supporters went out on the streets, distributing sweets and beating drums to mark the historic occasion.
District BJP president Gunjan Yadav said Murmu’s election was historic for the Indian democracy. “BJP-led NDA government has made it possible. It is for the first time when an Adivasi woman has been elected on the highest Constitutional chair. BJP and its allies supported the initiative taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They deserve all the praise for the victory of NDA’s presidential candidate,” he said.

BJP national vice president Raghubar Das and Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato also joined party workers in the celebrations. They congratulated PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president JP Nadda and all MPs and MLAs for supporting Murmu and ensuring her victory.
BJP workers were seen rejoicing in Murmu’s electoral victory at various roundabouts and squares across the city this evening. They gathered much before the announcement presidential election result in anticipation of Murmu’s win. Soon after the announcement was made, the celebratory mood picked up intensity with the party workers congratulating one and all on Murmu’s election.
