Jamshedpur, April 29: A delegation of Bharatiya Jantantra Morcha (BJM) members met the general manager (GM) of electricity department on Friday to demand relief measures in view of the ongoing power crisis in the city.
Leading the party members, district BJM president Subodh Srivastava said the power scenario in the city was very disappointing as frequent power cuts and load-shedding had made the lives of citizens miserable.
“Non company areas dependent on state owned power distribution companies for electricity supply are facing a difficult situation. Every day, load-shedding is being witnessed for long hours. Power cuts have become a norm, be it day or night. Peaceful sleep has become a luxury. While the citizens are reeling under power crisis, the electricity department authorities concerned seem not at all bothered,” said Srivastava.
Srivastava said the residents of Birsanagar, Bhuiyandih, Babudih, Lal Bhatta, Chandinagar and Chhayanagar had not got electricity connections despite payment. Many people are also getting faulty bills. At some places, power cables are hanging loose, inviting mishap, he said.
