Jamshedpur: Biking to spread the message on road safety

Jamshedpur: In a bid to spread road safety awareness, the Jamshedpur chapter of CII-Young Indians (Yi) organized an enthusiastic bike rally in the Steel City on Sunday. The event witnessed an impressive turnout, drawing participants from various organizations and clubs.

The rally was officially flagged off by Neeraj Sinha, Chief, Safety, Tata Steel, from a point opposite Sacred Heart Convent School at around 8:00 AM. Covering a 9-kilometer stretch, the rally traversed key city landmarks, including the Circuit House Area roundabout, Bistupur roundabout, Voltas Building Circle, Sardar Patel Chowk, Regal Circle (Gopal Maidan), and Jubilee Park roundabout, before concluding at its starting point.

Participants included members of biking clubs such as Jodi Riders Club, Road Melters, and Royal Kings Motorcycle Club, as well as representatives from Civil Defence, South Eastern Railway, and students from XITE Gamharia. The event was coordinated by Yi Jamshedpur Chair Koushik Modi, Co-chair Shruti Jhunjhunwala, Road Safety Chair Sakshi Agarwal, and Co-chair Bavneet and Siddharth Agrawal, along with other Yi members.

“The bike rally was a great success. Enthusiastic bikers enjom oyed the event, and it served as an excellent platform to spread awareness about road safety. Our aim is to make roads safer for everyone,” said a Yi official present at the event.

Participants adhered to strict safety protocols, arriving with helmets, knee pads, and other necessary protective gear. The registration to the bike rally was free, encouraging maximum participation and reinforcing the importance of road safety practices.

The event highlighted the collaborative effort of the community to promote safe driving habits and responsible road behavior, leaving a lasting impact on the city’s residents.
