Jamshedpur, Nov 3: Bengal’s Abhinansu Borthakur, finalist of the 2019 Men’s AITA event at Beldih Club, ultimately claimed the Men’s Singles title at the just concluded Beldih Club AITA Men’s National Ranking Tennis Tournament 2023, held at the tennis courts of the Beldih Club.
Borthakur, seeded 3 in the draw remained strong from the beginning of the match as he took close to two hours to upset top seeded Ritabrata Sarkar, also from Bengal, by a straight yet contesting 6-4,7-5. Borthakur pocketed 20 national ranking points by the win.
In the Men’s Doubles finals, it was the Bengal duo of Wyatt OBrien and Ritabrata Sarkar who had an easy task against Vashu Gupta of UP & Utkarsh Tiwari of MP, as the former won by a dominating 6-2,6-1.
