Jamshedpur, Aug 19: Rajshree Anand, a teacher turned senior corporate executive born and raised in Jamshedpur has penned down yet another book titled Buddhism Thru My Lens (The Gypsy’s Stories). The book highlights her dedication to all the revered monks and nuns who in their own fine spun ways showed her Buddhism.
In Dehradun, where I reside, my early morning walks across the paths of innumerable saffron-clad monks and nuns with calm smiles and peaceful faces. The green environs and white waters come to life as one can never miss the alluring and bright Buddhist prayer flags crisscrossing the trees in the valley adorned by the locals. Every place I visited as a gypsy touched the realms of my soul with numerous stories of people who came like a breath of fresh air, recalled Rajshree.
She further added: Through my experiences as a layperson, balancing the roles that I adorned as a career woman and a homemaker, I looked for my answers and often found them in Buddhas quotes. A little quest and contemplation have taught me to balance my life with the subtle teachings of Buddha in my day to day living. My desire to pen my understanding of Buddhism as a layperson was by living very much in this world and correlating my experiences to his teachings. Thus every experience I shared in this book tells a story of Buddhism through my lens.
Anand noted that Buddha was the first religious teacher who forged the path where women were considered as equal. He also indicated that its women who should be given equal justice in terms of not only spiritual development, but in all other spheres.
Rajshree is now ready with her third book for children titled The Celestial Sherpas of Ladakh will soon be published.
