Jamshedpur Bar Association triumphs over Sonari Shalin in Media Cup

Jamshedpur, Jan 29: The Bar Association secured a dominant victory over Sonari Shalin in the second match of the Media Cup 2025, organized by the Press Club of Jamshedpur on Wednesday at Cooperative College ground. The match witnessed an exciting contest where Sonari Shalin, after winning the toss, opted to bat first and managed to score 77 runs for the loss of five wickets in 12 overs.

In response, the Bar Association team showcased brilliant batting skills, comfortably chasing the target in just 6.5 overs, losing only one wicket. Sandeep starred with the ball for the Bar Association, taking two wickets, while Salim Ahmed claimed one wicket for Sonari Shalin.

Before the match, Bar Association President R.N. Das and Kumar Rajesh Ranjan were welcomed and honored with mementos by the Press Club officials. After the match, both the winning Bar Association team and the runner-up Sonari Shalin team were awarded trophies in a felicitation ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, R.N. Das praised the Press Club of Jamshedpur for successfully organizing the Media Cup for the last 18 years and encouraged them to continue hosting such events in the future. He emphasized that sports serve as the best medium for social interaction and camaraderie.

The event saw the presence of several dignitaries, including Press Club President Sanjeev Bhardwaj, General Secretary Vikas Srivastav, Vice Presidents Sumit Jha and Rakesh Singh, Joint Secretaries Ved Prakash Gupta and Amit Tiwari, Treasurer Gangadhar Pandey, former President B. Srinivas, former General Secretary Shyam Jha, and many other members, who lauded the spirit of the tournament.
