Jamshedpur : In a proactive move to ensure the seamless celebration of Chhath Puja, Honorable Minister Banna Gupta, overseeing the Health, Medical Education, Family Welfare, and Disaster Management Department in Jharkhand, conducted a thorough inspection of various Chhath Ghats. Accompanied by Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar, SDM Dhalbhum Piyush Sinha, and other officials, the minister visited key locations including Swarnarekha Ghat, Mango Bridge, and Domuhani Ghat.
During the inspection, Banna Gupta gathered information on ghat cleanliness and the ongoing efforts to enhance devotee convenience. Crucially, he issued guidelines to officials present, emphasizing the need for enhanced security and full restoration of facilities at the Chhath Ghats. The directives encompassed timely cleaning, provision of changing rooms for women, marking and barricading danger zones, installation of drop gates in crowded areas, and necessary repair work on access roads leading to the Chhath Ghat.
The minister stressed the importance of coordination among concerned officials from various departments, including municipal bodies, police, traffic, electricity, and disaster management. Specific attention was directed towards lighting arrangements, provision of drinking water, and smooth traffic and parking management at the ghats. Tata Steel officials, representatives of Tata Steel UISL, and other key stakeholders were also present during the inspection.
The Deputy Development Commissioner, SDM Dhalbhum, Deputy Municipal Commissioner JNAC, and other officials assured their commitment to implementing the outlined measures to ensure a successful and safe Chhath Puja celebration.
