Jamshedpur bank robbery: Police clueless even after five days

Jamshedpur, Aug 22: Even as five days have passed, Olidih police are clueless in the Dimna Road bank robbery case.

Armed criminals had looted cash and gold worth Rs 1 crore from the Dimna branch of Bank of India in the morning of 18th August. They had entered inside by posing as CBI officers. They took the mobile phones of all bank staff and customers soon after entering the bank premises.

Police sources said CCTV footage of the bank robbery were being scanned for a clue. Several suspects have been taken into custody for interrogation, but so far none has proved to be of any help in solving the case, sources said.

Sources said Koda gang of Katihar (Bihar) has come under scanner in this case. Police teams have been sent to Bihar to make a headway in the case. But so far no success has been reported.

After committing the robbery, the criminals had locked the bank gate and escaped on two bikes. They carried the bag containing cash and gold on the bike. Later, one bike was found at Azadnagar near NH33.

Earlier, criminals had dared city police by looting Rs 32 lakh cash from the staff of Chhaganlal Dayaljee Sons outside Canara Bank at Bistupur. This case is also under investigation till date.
