Jamshedpur, Dec 10: Bagbera rural water supply project would start in the new year. The work would be handed over to a new agency very soon. The financial bid of the tender under the scheme is expected to be opened in the headquarters of Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, Ranchi. The chief engineer of the department Raghunandan Sharma visited the filter plant at Bagera on Saturday. He was accompanied by the superintending engineer Shishir Soren and executive engineer Abhay Toppo.
Members of Bagbera Mananagar Vikas Samiti led by BJP leader Subodh Jha met Sharma and discussed about the project. He said Sharma had assured him that the project would start in the new year. The project work would be assigned to a new agency by December end, he said.
Sources said a bridge would be first constructed at Baroda Ghat to support the pipeline which would carry water from intake well to the water filter plant. The intake well has been constructed in Sapra and its construction is almost complete, sources said.
