Jamshedpur: Awareness on transgender voting right

Jamshedpur, December 2. Right to vote for third gender, a special short revision program of voter list was organized in Michael John Auditorium, Bistupur.

State Election Commission official K Ravi Kumar informed all the third gender and BLOs about the guidelines of the Central Election Commission.

The workshop was attended by transgender, intellectually impaired children, BLOs who carry forward the work of the Election Commission were present. While addressing the program, third gender Amarjeet Singh Shergil said that for the first time, Jharkhand government has started the scheme of pension scheme for eunuchs, for which we express our gratitude.

 We have also been given the right to vote by the Election Commission. Where we will now come to the electoral arena and present our claim.

K Ravi Kumar, said that the right of general vote to all the people is our first priority.

“In this work, all the BLOs, are going to people’s homes and preparing voter lists. In such a situation, we request all the voters to follow their voting rights,” said Kumar.
