Jamshedpur: Ananya of DPS and Aradhya of DBMS win Fancy Dress Parade at Tata Zoo

 

 

 

Curtains on Wildlife Week Celebrations 2023

 

Jamshedpur, October 7: On the final day of the Wildlife Week Celebrations 2023 at the Tata Steel Zoological Park, a Fancy Dress Parade was organized. A total of 520 students from 26 schools participated in the competition which was followed by the Closing Ceremony.

 

Chief Guest for the programme was Cpt. Amitabh, Hon. Secretary Tata Steel Zoological Society, Guest of Honor Bipul Chakrabarty, Director, TSZP presented awards to the winners of the Fancy Dress Parade.

The Fancy Dress Parade was organized across 2 Categories i.e. Category-1 (Nursery-L.K.G.) and Category II (U.K.G- STD-I). The judges for the competition were- Rajni Kaur (NML, KPS), Monali Debjani Das (D.P.S., Sakchi), Payal Bhatia (Convent, Former Teacher Dum Dum), Dr. Seema Rani (Biologist cum Education Officer, TSZP).

 

Wildlife Week Celebrations- 2023 started on 2nd October 2023 and witnessed a number of events including On the spot painting competition, Inter School Debate Competition, Zoostorm (online quiz), and Fancy Dress Competition.

 

This week-long event was organized to raise awareness about wildlife conservation among the youth of the region and foster a deep appreciation for biodiversity.

 

About 1926 participants across 35 institutions participated in the celebration from 3 different states.

 

Also, the announcement of the winners for On the Spot Painting Competition, Inter-School Debate Competition, and the online quiz ZooStorm were declared.

 

Wildlife Week Celebrations 2023 were coordinated by Dr. Seema Rani, Biologist cum Education Officer, Tata Steel Zoological Park

 

These competitions not only encouraged creative expression but also instilled a sense of responsibility towards the environment and the species that inhabit it. The enthusiasm and participation of students from numerous schools in Jamshedpur were truly commendable.

 

The culmination of the week-long extravagant celebration was witnessed by Director Bipul Chakrabarty, Dy. Director Dr. Manik Palit, Curator Dr. Sanjay Kumar Mahato and Zoo Staffs

 

Riya Chakrabarty, Sayok Sarkar, Iram Khan assisted throughout the celebration to make this week a grand success.

 

In category 1 (Nur-L.K.G.) Ananya Roy Chowdhury of Dayanand Public School was declared the winner of fancy dress parade.Gurbani Kaur of Carmel Jr. College was second while Fateh Singh of Hill Top School, Telco bagged third prize.

Consolation Prize went to Devansh Mahak of D.B.M.S. Kadma High School.

 

In category 2 (U.K.G.-Std. I) Aradhya Singh of D.B.M.S. Kadma High School was first followed by Unnati Nagelia of Carmel Jr. College and Aaradhya Thakur of Hill Top School, Telco. Consolation Prize was won by Rounak of K.P.S. Kadma.
