Jamshedpur all set to host IPL Fan Park on May 28

Jamshedpur, May 26: Steel City will host IPL Fan Park after a gap of three years on Sunday, May 28. The Transport Ground in Agrico (Jamshedpur) will the venue for cricket aficionados to enjoy IPL Final on big screens.

Chennai Super Kings will face winner of Qualifier 2 in the final of the cash rich league.

This was jointly informed by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) representative Alvin Gaikwad and Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) representative Manoj Kumar and Ashish Singh.

Addressing a press meet at a city hotel on Friday, they stated that in the 2023 edition of IPL, a total of 40 fan parks have been organized in 22 states. For the summit clash, fan parks are being organized in a total of five cities including Jamshedpur across the country. 32/80 LCD screen will broadcast the final match.

“It promises to offer an exciting and entertaining community-viewing experience for the cricket fans in Jamshedpur,” added Alvin.

Entry to the fan park will be free. Earlier, Jamshedpur hosted fan parks twice and this will be the third time.

BCCI representative further said that three different types of wrist bands for men, women and kid will be available for entry to fan park. Visitors will have to tie the wristband before entering the venue.

Alvin said that strict security arrangements will be in place at the fan park. Sharp objects are banned inside the fan park. He said that earlier a fan park was organized in Dhanbad where more than twenty thousand attended and hope that this number  goes up on the day of the final.

“For the entertainment of visitors food zone and gaming zone will also be there at the fan park. Apart from this, quiz contest will be organized during the session break. Those with correct answers will get cricketers signed T-shirt,” Alvin stated.

The live telecast of the final match will start at 7.30 pm and but the entry in the fan park will begin at 5.30 pm.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), in its continuous endeavour to take the prestigious IPL tournament across the country and the globe, had started the concept in 2015 and the TATA IPL 2023 saw comeback of the same.
