Jamshedpur Advocate demands resolution of court fee and stamp paper shortage

Jamshedpur, Nov 25: Senior advocate of the Jamshedpur Bar Association, Sudhir Kumar Pappu, has urged the District Deputy Commissioner to address the ongoing shortage of court fees and non-judicial stamp papers. He highlighted that only ₹1 stamp papers are currently available, while stamps of ₹5, ₹15, ₹20, ₹50, and ₹100 are essential for various legal proceedings.

He emphasized that this shortage was hindering critical tasks such as filing Vakalatnamas, bail bonds, petition applications, and obtaining certified copies of court documents. The disruption was causing significant delays in judicial processes, leading to frustration among litigants and lawyers alike.

Advocate Pappu also pointed out that individuals from other states were being affected, tarnishing Jharkhand’s reputation. He called on Bar Association officials to intervene and recommended making non-judicial stamp papers accessible both online and offline, as network issues often obstructed the online process.

He criticized government departments for neglecting the issue over the past two months, citing election-related excuses. Advocate Pappu has urged authorities to resolve the matter as a priority.
