Jamshedpur, November 14: The administration team is busy in ensuring better arrangements at river and pond ghats regarding Chhath festival.
Preparations are being made for cleaning more than five dozen ghats, repairing the access roads and arranging lighting, marking danger zones with rope-balloons, making changing rooms, deployment of divers etc.
Waterbodies including Subarnarekha-Kharkai were cleaned after the immersion of Durga Puja idols. Again, with Kalipuja idol immersion, the situation has become the same as before. A campaign is being run by identifying 62 such ghats. However, a large population these days worships by building alternative ghats around the houses.
Arrangements for an artificial pond will also be made.
The team is working for cleanliness at Mahakaleshwar (Shiv Ghat) and Parvati Kharkai Ghat in Jugsalai. Barricading will be done in Bada Nala. It would be prohibited to enter the danger zone of the river.
