Public Hearing on Proposed Power Tariff Hike in Jamshedpur and Adityapur on Feb 16–17

Jamshedpur: The Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission has announced public hearings on February 16 and 17 regarding proposed electricity tariff revisions for Jamshedpur and Adityapur. Power distribution companies have submitted proposals seeking a hike in electricity rates, prompting regulatory review and stakeholder consultation.

Tata Steel has proposed an increase in power tariffs for consumers in Jamshedpur, while Tata Steel UISL has sought approval for revised rates in the Seraikela-Kharsawan district, including Adityapur. Tata Power has also submitted its tariff proposal to the commission.

According to the official notification, a public hearing on the Tata Steel UISL proposal will be held on February 16 at 3 pm at the Adityapur Auto Cluster. On February 17, a hearing on Tata Steel’s proposal is scheduled at 11:30 am at the Golmuri Club, followed by a session on Tata Power’s proposal at 3 pm the same day.

The commission has invited consumers and stakeholders to submit their suggestions and objections during the hearings. The proposed tariff revisions, if approved, could impact domestic, commercial and industrial consumers across the region.
