Jamshedpur accident: Six injured in road accident near Bodam

Jamshedpur, April 25: Six persons were severely injured in a road accident in Bodam police station area late Sunday night.

Five of the victims were identified as Sonu Paharia, Puchchi Paharia, Jyeshtha, Mohan and Jai Ram Paharia, all residents of Bota village, Patamda.

According to sources, the mishap occurred when an auto-rickshaw carrying the victims from Ramgarh village of Chandil was on its way to Bota around midnight. A speeding trailer truck knocked down the auto-rickshaw while overtaking it. The three-wheeler overturned several times, causing serious injuries to the passengers. Local residents rushed the victims to MGM Hospital. The truck driver escaped from the scene.

Sonu Paharia’s father Vishwanath Paharia said the family had gone to see a Chhau dance performance in Ramgarh when the mishap occurred.
