Jamshedpur accident: Car kills biker at Sonari Link Road, overturns

Jamshedpur, April 23: A 45 year-old man, identified as Dilip Lal Khatri, was run over to death by a speeding car near Link Road roundabout under Sonari police station area late Friday night, police said.

According to police, the car driver lost control over the vehicle as he was driving very fast. After knocking down Khatri, a resident of Adityapur, the car overturned on the road after rolling several times. Khatri was riding his motorcycle during the mishap.

The victim was critically injured in the incident. He was taken to Tata Main Hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Smita Kumari, daughter of the deceased, registered a police complaint against the car driver.

After the incident, a mob gathered at the scene. Police was called in by the local residents. The car driver was accompanied by a woman at the time of accident. He took the victim to the hospital and left him unattended while fleeing, sources said.

The accused couple were going towards Bistupur from Sonari when the car hit Khatri’s bike. Khatri’s bike rammed into the divider, causing him critical injuries, sources said.
