Jamshedpur Accident: BJP leader Basko Besra’s son among two killed in speeding car crash on NH-33

Jamshedpur, Aug 5: Anmol Besra (19), son of BJP leader Basko Besra, a resident of Bada Gamharia and a girl Ananya Verma(15) were killed after the SUV (Scorpio) they were travelling in smashed into a trailer on NH-33 in Kanderbeda, under the jurisdiction of Chandil police station, on Friday evening.

One of their friend Yuvraj Singh (20) sustained serious injuries and is in critical condition undergoing treatment at the Tata Main Hospital(TMH).

Accoring to reports,  high-speed Scorpio was heading from Pudisilli to Jamshedpur on the National Highway when it collided with a 407 vehicle near Raghunath Murmu Chowk. The impact caused the Scorpio to lose control and crash into a roadside trailer. Both the Scorpio and the rear portion of the 407 van, which was loaded with cattle feed, suffered extensive damage.

Anmol Besra, the son of BJP leader Basko Besra, was driving the Scorpio at the time of the accident, with Ananya Verma and Yuvraj Singh seated in the back. Ananya Verma and Yuvraj Singh sustained serious injuries while Anmol Besra got trapped in the steering wheel of the Scorpio.

Upon witnessing the accident, bystanders rushed to help and attempted to rescue the injured.

The deceased Anmol Besra, a  class 12 student of DPS Mango was a resident of Mango Sankosai Road No. 3.
Class 10 student Ananya Verma was a resident of Dimna Vasundhra Estate. 

The injured Yuvraj Singh is a resident of Dimna.

Soon after the incident Chandil police station in-charge, Dinesh Thakur, arrived at the spot and, with the help of a hydra crane, successfully extricated Anmol Besra from the vehicle.

All three injured individuals were immediately rushed to MGM for treatment. However, tragically, Anmol Besra and Ananya Verma were declared dead at TMH, while Yuvraj Singh continues to receive medical care.

Sources revealed that all three – Ananya Verma, Anmol Besra, and Yuvraj Singh had gone for a ride after coaching class in Jamshedpur.

Earlier, Ananya Verma was dropped off at the coaching center by her mother. After completing the class, the three friends set out towards the National Highway when the accident occurred.

Chandil police station in-charge, Dinesh Thakur, has seized both the Scorpio and the 407 van involved in the accident, and an investigation into the cause of the tragedy has been initiated. As part of the investigation, Thakur has also issued stern warnings to those who habitually park vehicles on the road.
