Jamshedpur gangster Akhilesh, 6 others acquitted in Upendra Singh murder case

Jamshedpur, August 5: The court has acquitted seven people including gangster Akhilesh Singh in the Upendra Singh murder case.

Those acquitted include Akhilesh Singh, Jaswinder, Pankaj, Ashutosh, Ajay Yadav, Balbir and Sanjay Jojo.

While Sonu and Vinod Singh alias Mowgli have been found guilty under section 302. Although both of them have been acquitted under 120B. Sonu and Mowgli will be sentenced on 14 August.

Incidentally, Harish Singh was also made an accused in this case, but he is absconding and his case will run separately.

On Saturday, the court of ADJ First Sanjay Kumar Upadhyay of Jamshedpur Court gave its verdict in this matter. On November 30, 2016, JMM leader cum transporter Upendra Singh, a resident of Bagbera, was shot dead by criminals on the second floor of the Bar Association building of Jamshedpur Civil Court.

Vinod Singh alias Mowgli and Sonu Singh, who shot, were caught by the mob from the spot. After the information, the police of Sitaramdera police station had reached the spot. Pistol and cartridges were recovered from both of them. Both had told the police that Upendra Singh was murdered at the behest of gangsters Akhilesh Singh and Harish Singh. In the murder case, a case was registered against 10 including gangsters Akhilesh Singh, Harish Singh, Jasveer Singh, Sanjay Jojo, lodged in Dumka Jail.
