Jamshedpur: The Parsudih Police Station have arrested an absconding accused involved in a fraud case registered in 2022 and sent him to judicial custody.
The accused has been identified as Anoop Kumar alias Anoop Kumar Singh, a resident of Neelkanth Apartment in Jojobera under the Govindpur Police Station area.
Traced Through Surveillance
According to police, Anoop Kumar had been evading arrest for a long time and was now staying temporarily near the Community Health Centre in Rahargora. The case against him involves charges of cheating, criminal breach of trust, and criminal intimidation.
Acting on technical surveillance and human intelligence, the police successfully traced his location and arrested him. In the same case, another accused had already secured bail from the court, while Anoop Kumar continued to remain absconding.
Sent to Judicial Custody
Following his arrest, the accused was produced before the court, which remanded him to judicial custody.
The officer-in-charge of Parsudih police station said a special drive has been intensified to apprehend long-absconding accused and warrant holders in the area. Police officials added that such action would help strengthen law and order and act as a deterrent to criminal activities, indicating that more arrests in pending cases are likely soon.
