Jamshedpur, March 20: Sidhgora police arrested Surya alias Lalit Kumar, an alleged associate of Amlesh Singh, brother of gangster Akhilesh Singh, in a six year old extortion case.
According to police, an FIR was registered against the accused with the Sidhgora police station on the information of the then Sub Inspector of Police Dhruv Kumar Rai.
At present this case is being investigated by SI Meghnath Mandal. He said Surya, Amlesh Singh and several others were booked in this case for demanding extortion money from various people across the city. Surya fled the city after being booked in the case. He was forwarded to judicial custody today, Mandal said.
