Seraikela, July 27: Eight girl students of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Residential High School located in Seraikela suddenly started having stomach and chest pain.
In a hurry, the warden informed the parents of the children about this and reached Sadar Hospital with the girl students. The girl students started fainting with pain and complained of dizziness. A team of three doctors started treating the girl students in the hospital. After which District Education Officer Jitendra Kumar Sinha reached Sadar Hospital and took information about the whole matter from Dr. Nakul Prasad Chaudhary, Deputy Superintendent of the Hospital.
However, by late evening the condition of all the girl students was told by the doctors to have improved.
At around 1.30 pm, three girl students started complaining to the warden about chest and stomach pain. Then suddenly she fainted. After which eight girl students started fainting one by one. After which everyone was taken to Sadar Hospital one by one. The girl students told that everyone had eaten poha in the morning breakfast. After lunch, six girl students started having chest pain and difficulty in breathing. Then everyone was taken to the hospital. The girl students told that there is a problem of water in the school.
According to Warden Anju Alda, after having lunch, the girl students started having chest and stomach pain. After which he was admitted to Sadar Hospital, now his condition is fine.
Deputy superintendent of Sadar Hospital, Dr Nakul Prasad Choudhary said that eight girl students of Kasturba Gandhi Girls Residential High School, Seraikela had complained of stomach and chest problems. Those who have been admitted to Sadar Hospital are being treated. Probably the girl students have got gastroenteritis problem.
