Jamshedpur, Oct 20: In a significant step towards embracing technological advancements, Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri inaugurated 74 state-of-the-art Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras installed in the Collectorate premises today.
The inauguration ceremony took place from the District Magistrate’s office room, symbolizing a commitment to modernizing government offices for improved efficiency, professionalism, and transparency.
Speaking to the media during the event, Bhajantri shed light on the objectives of the initiative, titled ‘Cleanliness – CCTV Monitoring System – An Initiative Towards Transparency in Collectorate.’
The installation of CCTVs aims to promote professionalism, enhance workplace efficiency, and ensure transparency among government employees. The strategically placed cameras cover key areas requiring monitoring, with live feeds accessible from the DC’s office. Notably, the DC emphasized that he would have access to these feeds on his phone, ensuring continuous monitoring even when he is away from the office.
Highlighting the importance of leveraging technology for public service, the Bhajantri stressed the ongoing efforts to provide improved services to the public in line with technological advancements. He mentioned the earlier launch of the Swagatam portal, designed for visitors to the DC’s office, which streamlined record-keeping for visitors and facilitated feedback on their applications.
Both initiatives align with the district administration’s commitment to ushering in transparency within government offices.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of key officials, including Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jaideep Tigga, DCLR Ravindra Gagrai, DIO Kishore Prasad, and other dignitaries.
