Jamshedpur: 7 miscreants arrested, arms seized after encounter with police in Ghatsila

Jamshedpur, July 28: Seven criminals have been arrested in an encounter between police and criminals in Ghatshila on Thursday evening.

The arrested criminals include Sajan Mishra of Ulidih, Shahid Khan alias Shahzada of Kapali in Seraikela, Rohit Kumar Gupta and Shivranjan Yadav alias Shivpujan of Mukhiyadanga of MGM police station area, Tapas Das of Birsanagar, Gorango Pushti of Turiyabeda under MGM police station area and Divyanshu Ojha a resident of Pardih.

The police have recovered four pistols, several rounds of live cartridges from them along with empty cartridges at the scene of the incident. At the same time, the police have also recovered two cars of the criminals from the spot. On Friday, the police sent all the miscreants to judicial custody.

Giving information, SSP Prabhat Kumar said that secret information was received that some criminals are planning to execute an incident in a dhaba located at Kapagouda in Ghatshila.

After getting the information, a team was formed and raids were conducted. Seeing the police, the criminals started firing. In retaliation, the police also fired five rounds, out of which one bullet hit the leg of Sajan Mishra. The police have sent all the criminals to jail. According to the SSP, many criminal cases are registered against Sajan Mishra and Rohit Kumar Gupta.
