Jamshedpur: 40 farmer groups finalised for agricultural machinery distribution

Jamshedpur: About 40 farmer groups have been approved for machinery distribution under the Chief Minister Tractor Distribution Scheme for 2023-24 and 2024-25, along with six additional farmer groups for 2024-25 and 2025-26. Furthermore, 12 women self-help groups were chosen in 2023-24 and one in 2024-25 for setting up Agricultural Equipment Banks, aimed at empowering women in agribusiness. A total of 122 small and marginal farmers will receive pump sets, while six farmer groups were identified for benefits under the centrally sponsored scheme for 2024-25.

The decisions were taken during a district-level selection committee meeting held at DC office Auditorium, Jamshedpur, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal. The meeting focused on ensuring the efficient implementation of state-sponsored agricultural schemes to enhance mechanization and improve farming productivity.

During the meeting, officials provided detailed insights into the financing and distribution process for pump sets, mini tractors, and other farming equipment. Deputy Development Commissioner Aniket Sachan, along with senior officials from the Agriculture, Land Conservation, and Welfare departments, attended the session. The initiative aims to modernize agricultural practices and uplift farming communities across Jharkhand.
