Jamshedpur: 3,868 students approved for post-matric scholarship

Jamshedpur, March 10: A total of 3,868 students have been approved so far under the post-matric scholarship scheme, as confirmed during the district-level approval and monitoring committee meeting chaired by District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal. The meeting, held at DC office Auditorium, Jamshedpur, reviewed the implementation of the scholarship program and the Chief Minister’s Health Assistance Scheme for the financial year 2024-25.

According to District Welfare Officer Shankaracharya Samad, 6,866 applications were received from various institutions through the welfare portal. The approved applications will have scholarship amounts directly transferred to students’ Aadhaar-linked accounts via the Public Financial Management System (PFMS). Additionally, Divine Mission College of Pharmacy was newly registered under the e-Kalyan portal for scholarship eligibility in East Singhbhum district.

Under the Chief Minister’s Health Assistance Scheme, 294 applications for medical subsidies were reviewed. After verification, 107 beneficiaries from the backward caste, 23 from the scheduled caste, and 164 from the scheduled tribe communities were found eligible. The Deputy Commissioner directed the re-examination of applications with Aadhaar and mobile number discrepancies before final approval.

The initiatives aim to enhance educational opportunities and healthcare access for marginalized communities in East Singhbhum.
