‘Jai Shri Ram’ chants, Nishans paint Jamshedpur in saffron

Jamshedpur, March 21: On Tuesday, 21 March, a grand procession was organised in Jamshedpur to welcome the Hindu Nav Varsh. Residents from all parts of the city were involved and enjoyed the parade in full enthusiasm. 

Grand Shobha Yatra was taken out from three locations in Jamshedpur in which thousands of people participated.

People were chanting Lord Shri Ramchandra Ki Jai, Jai Shriram and Jai Hanuman as traditional musical instruments were played, the sky was adorned with breathtaking fireworks, saffron flags and crowds of people wearing saffron turban created the environment cheerful.

Strict security arrangements were in place.

The first Shobha Yatra started from Dimna Maidan (Ayodhya Dham) under the aegis of Hindu Nav Varsh Yatra Organizing Committee President Rambabu Tiwari.

The second Yatra was taken out from Transport Maidan, Agrico, and concluded at Subhash Maidan.

Dimna road was turned into one-way in view of the Shobha Yatra. People on foot, motorcycles and four-wheelers were seen marching ahead shouting slogans. Late evening, the Shobha Yatra reached Subhash Maidan (Aambagan Ground) located at Sakchi.

East Singhbhum district administration made tight security arrangements in view of the Nav Varsh celebration. Several Hindu outfits also joined hands to make the event a grand success. District administration pressed into service several contingents of armed police personnel to keep peace during the Yatra.

The procession concluded with Bharat Mata’s Aarti. Hindu leaders were welcomed with turbans at the MGM Medical College ground in Dimna Chowk.

Mrityunjay Singh, Dashrath Shukla Mahesh Singh, Niraj Singh, Dharmendra Prasad, Mrityunjan Kumar, Dashrath Choubey, Sarvjit Tiwari, Bipin Jha Nitin Trivedi and others were present in the Shobha Yatra.

The procession taken out from Agrico Transport Ground under the aegis of Hindu Jan Jagran Manch saw the presence of large number of people including Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy.

The yatra culminated at Aambagan Ground.

It is worth mentioning that Hindu Nav Varsh, begins on the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month. The day is also known as the first day of Chaitra Navratri.

This year, the Hindu Nav Varsh starts on Wednesday, March 22. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Brahma created the universe on this day.

DC, SSP in active mode

Jamshedpur, March 21: Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Prabhat Kumar were in active mode since Tuesday morning and visited various locations in the city and directed the officials concerned to keep vigil across the length and breadth of the Yatra. DC asked the organisers to follow decorum and not play any provocative or indecent songs during the Yatra.

SSP Prabhat Kumar said the city police made adequate security arrangements for the Yatra.
