Jamshedpur, Aug. 2: Laxmi Rani Majhi, top archer from East Singhbhum district’s Jadugora is ready to shine at Rio Olympics from August 5 to 20. Majhi has reached Brazil along with Deepika Kumari and Bombayla Devi will represent India in archery.
Resident of Narwa Pahar UCIL Colony under Jadugora police station, Laxmi Rani Majhi’s sister Taramala Rani has high hopes from her sister and is confident that she will make India proud.
Laxmi comes from a very ordinary family. Her father Diku Majhi a low grade employee at Narwa Pahar Uranium project of UCIL.
Diku didn’t even know that the game usually mastered by boys will see his daughter displaying talent at the top most level.
He helped his daughter to master her skills and now she is ready to shine at the world’s biggest sporting event.
He hopes that Laxmi wins a medal and gives Uranium town Jadugora and Narwa an international recognition.
