JAC to ensure strict evaluation of matric and intermediate exam papers

Jamshedpur : The Jharkhand Academic Council ( JAC) will ensure strict evaluation of matric and intermediate examination papers.

Anand Bhushan, chairperson of JAC inspected all the three evaluation centres of matriculation and intermediate to check the evaluation process.

Bhushan visited Jamshedpur Workers’ College in Mango, Graduate School College for Women and Karim City College, both in Sakchi– the three centres of intermediate evaluation in the district. The evaluation for intermediate began on March 24 and will continue till April 10.
Known for his discipline, Anand Bhushan, warned the teachers that they must carry their duty of evaluation of matriculation and intermediate examinations with utter sincerity or else they will be blacklisted.

“We have been receiving complains of that a student received less marks than he deserved. We need to address these issues. The future of a child depends on the hand of the teacher they need to be sincere, he noted. The matriculation examination begins from February 22 this year.

We want to strengthen the surveillance system of JAC. I am not doing this because people don’t work but only to maintain transparency and make the system more efficient, he said.
He said this was an exercise being carried out by the council to improve the examination pattern and also help students perform better. The new module will prove to be less stressful for students and the evaluators.

We want to make students learn different kinds of things during the short span of our session to boost their confidence level. We also want train them to establish better co-ordination between mind and hand so that they can write answers in less time, said a school principal.

He said that the evaluation has improved from last time. The whole evaluation system will be student friendly with candidates deserving their best results this time. Bhushan also said that the board will try its best to declare the results before any other state board does in the country.

The council has taken some positive steps to imporve the results this year. Teachers workshop on how to make studies interesting, mock test for science, model questions which have been introduced in the last academic session will be more in frequency this year. The JAC results in intermediate for the past 15 years have been poor especially science which have been around 30-40 per cent.

This year, students will get more scope of improving themselves. Each subject will have four phase examination in mock tests. This will make students shed the fear of examination. Mock tests will also be introduced in arts and commerce.
