JAC: 72 matriculation and 32 intermediate exam centers in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: As the Matriculation and Intermediate examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Academic Council approach, the East Singhbhum district is making extensive preparations to ensure a smooth and transparent examination process. The district administration has proposed the establishment of 72 matriculation and 32 intermediate examination centers to accommodate the 45,986 candidates participating in the upcoming examinations.

Examination Schedule: The Matriculation and Intermediate examinations are scheduled to commence on February 6, 2024, and will continue until February 26. The district administration, in collaboration with the Jharkhand Academic Council, has set up examination centers to facilitate the smooth conduct of these examinations.

Shifts and Candidate Numbers: The examinations will be held in two shifts, with the Matriculation exam scheduled in the first shift and the Intermediate exam in the second. A total of 25,911 candidates are expected to appear for the Matriculation examination, while 24,674 candidates will participate in the Intermediate examination. The Class 10th examinations will take place from 9.45 am to 1 pm, and Class 12th examinations will be held from 2 pm to 5.20 pm.

Security Measures and Review: All examination centers have undergone thorough reviews to ensure a transparent and malpractice-free environment. The District Education Department has formulated a proposal related to the examination centers, which has been forwarded to the Jharkhand Academic Council for approval.

Practical Examinations: According to the Jharkhand Academic Council, Matriculation practicals are scheduled to occur from February 29 to March 12, 2024, while Intermediate practical examinations will be held from February 29 to March 13, 2024. External teachers will be sent to oversee practical exams to maintain the integrity of the process.

Strict Guidelines for Examinees and Officials: To maintain the sanctity of the examination process, strict guidelines have been issued: Officers, invigilators, and employees at examination centers are prohibited from using mobile phones. Center Superintendents are tasked with preventing question paper leaks. Stringent screening of candidates at the main entrance. Candidates must enter the examination hall 10 minutes before the start of the examination. Electronic devices are strictly prohibited inside the examination center. Additional time of 15 minutes will be given to candidates for reading the question paper. Any candidate found roaming around the examination centers will be subject to arrest.

Precautions for Disabled Candidates: Disabled candidates for Matric and Intermediate exams will be provided co-writers in accordance with examination rules. Guidelines from the Jharkhand Academic Council regarding this matter are expected soon, and the District Education Officer will be informed accordingly.
