Izu Azuka grabs hat-trick as Jamshedpur FC thumps Tata Steel 8-0 in pre-season friendly

Men of Steel continue good form ahead of ISL opener

Jamshedpur, Nov. 6: Nigerian forward Izu Azuka struck hat-trick, including a opener, to lead Jamshedpur FC to a 8-0 win over the Tata Steel team in their pre-season friendly on Monday.

Jamshedpur FC continued with their rich vein of form in the pre-season as they thrashed Tata Steel team in a friendly game at the Tata Football Academy (TFA).

After registering four wins in five outings during the pre-season tour of Thailand, Men of Steel are all geared up for the maiden ISL stint which was evident from their convincing win over Tata Steel.

Steve Coppell�s men were right on top of their game from the onset and did not let their opponents breathe.

The Nigerian forward Izu Azuka scored the first goal of the match for Jamshedpur FC in the 16th minute of the game as Trindade Goncalves� shot took a rebound off the goalkeeper. Azuka buried it into the back of the net with precision. Trindade was not disheartened as he put one in the back of the net in less than two minutes time and made it 2-0.

Belfort scored from the spot in the 24th minute to make it 3-0 and by that time it was evident which way the game was going to go. The goals galore continued as Azuka was one of the usual suspects to have buried one in from Trindade�s cross in the 27th minute. He doubled his tally in the 37th minute after he scored from Souvik Chakrabarti�s through ball.

The first half of the match ended 5-0. Tata Steel boys were trying hard not to let Coppell�s men to get through their defense easily, but their effort went in vain. The scoring counter kept on ticking in the second half as well.

Tata Steel got a good opportunity to put in the Jamshedpur FC net, but luck did not seem to run their way as it hit the woodwork. Farukh Choudhary showcased his prowess as he scored from at least 30 yards out in the 78th minute. The midfield maestro Souvik Chakrabarti too registered his name on the scoring sheet in the 86th minute. Farukh put the final nail in the coffin in the dying minutes of the game and scripted a resounding score-line of 8-0 at the end of the 90 minutes.
