IWC Jamshedpur East organises cervical cancer awareness programme

Jamshedpur, Aug 1: The Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur East conducted cervical cancer vaccination awareness programme at Project Girls High School. The event, which aimed to educate young women about cervical cancer prevention, saw significant participation from students and club members alike.

The keynote speaker, Dr. Anjushree Pandit, provided insightful information on the early diagnosis of cervical cancer, effective screening methods, necessary lifestyle changes, and the importance of vaccination. Her presentation emphasized the critical role of early detection and preventive measures in combating this prevalent disease.

The programme was graced by the presence of PDC Dr. Rita Jha, who added her valuable perspectives on the subject. To support the students’ well-being, the club also distributed biscuits and Horlicks pouches among the 130 school students who attended the event.

The event was well-attended by seven club members, including District President Alokanand Bakshi and District Secretary Priyaka Kumar. Club President Madhumita Sanyal and Club Secretary Sanchita Dey also participated actively in the programme. Madhumita Sanyal concluded the event with a heartfelt vote of thanks, appreciating the efforts of all involved and the enthusiastic participation of the students.
