IWC Jamshedpur celebrates Rakhi with soldiers

Jamshedpur: On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur celebrated Rakhi with the soldiers at the Sonari Army Camp on Saturday.
Lt. Col R Sreedhar, Major Suraj, Capt. Gurpreet Singh, Capt. Indrajeet Yadav, Capt. Dheeraj and other jawans were present during the celebration.

Members of the club tied rakhis to the jawans. Vijay Laxmi Das shed light on the importance of the festival. Nightingale of the club Amrita sang couple of songs which was enjoyed by one and all.

Members of the district, Past Presidents, Executive Board and Committee Members along with 30 members of the club were present.

In another event, Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur celebrated Raksha Bandhan at the Old Age Home with elderly. The senior citizens were happy to be part of the celebration.

Club’s nightingale Amrita sang beautiful songs for them which made them happy and they all enjoyed. One elderly member sang a very melodious Bengali song.
Club also donated vegetables to the old age home. Members also provided cash for sweets.

Convener Tarulata Ranpara and Neelakshi Jaiswal made all the arrangements.
In the third event of the day, workshop on Rakhi making was conducted by the club members at DBMS College of Education. Around 30 B.Ed students learned how to make Rakhi. Archana Shekhar and Ranjeeta Sinha helped in making workshop successful.
