Ranchi, Jan. 11: Information Technology and e- governance department secretary Sunil Barnwal on Monday said that in the coming 5 years Jharkhand will touch skies of IT sector and the state will become an IT hub.
IT major Microsoft is planning to come to Jharkhand and a team has been formed under the leadership of CEO Microsoft Satya Nadela, which will search for the possibilities of cloud based work in the state. Barnwal said that the department has list of achievements but there is lot more to do.
Addressing the media at IPRD, Barnwall said that in e-governance sector, Jharkhand is one among the selected states of the country which is growing faster. Some world class IT companies wants to invest in Jharkhand. Many big companies want to start their services and the state government is ready for every possible support.
Barnwal said that the department is working on connecting every technique and higher education institution with national knowledge network. MOU has already been signed for the construction of IIIT in Sanga village.
This will be made in 66 acres. For software and Technology Park of India work has been assigned at Adityapur and Sindri. And the process of tender is at the final stage at Deoghar and Bokaro for STPI. At the instructions of Chief Minister Raghubar Das, 200 acres of land has been identified at HEC for IT city.
Barnwal said that a year ago, only 5 services of e-governance were running in Ranchi. On 16th September 2015, every district of the state got connected with e- governance and 54 online services got started. Among them 49 services are continuously monitored so that people from different part of the state connect themselves directly to the policies of the government and get benefited too.
According to Barnwal, skilling process has already been started by the department with ‘Udaan 2015’. More than 80,000 students from 1660 schools took part in the first round of this contest. Around 5500 students took part in the second round and on November 14, 1332 students got selected for the screening and following this the successful candidates of audio-visual and quiz round get rewarded by Chief Minister.
Barnwal elaborated the services of department to the media. He said that for the convenience of the mass department had started an online appointment system through which people can directly get the appointment with the CM, ministers any higher authorities of any department of the state government to get skilled man power in IT sector, the department collaborated with NIELIT and CDAC under which, SC and ST youngsters are getting trained in 10 districts of the state.
Referring to mobile governance, the secretary said that important steps have been taken by the department with a benchmark launch of 14 mobile applications. Through this service people can easily search for the citizen facility services. The most important application is related to Mukhyamantri Jansamvad named as M. Samvad. Through this application one can register one’s complaints, suggestions in written instead of dialing 181.
Barnwal said that the department is going to start new start up policy for those who are interested in new experiments. Along with this all 4402 panchayats will be connected with broadband connection till 2017-18. All the headquarters will be served the Wi-Fi services, so that people can become the part of connectivity.
Barnwal said that Jharkhand is a single state where 90% of people carry their adhar cards. Very soon rest 10% will also be covered. For this 800 tablets have been purchased for anganbadi workers. Every child will get registered for adhaar on the day of birth. After 5 years the adhaar will get updated by taking finger prints.
IT Director Umesh Kumar shah, Director, Information and Public Relation Department Awdhesh Kumar Pandey and other administrative officers were present in the conference.
